HOW DOES KIDS HOPE WORK?
Teachers recommend children who need a boost with their academic or social skills and could benefit from having an adult mentor take an interest in them. Permission is then solicited from the parents or guardians. The KIDS HOPE director matches trained mentors with the students and they meet weekly at a time that the teacher recommends. For the 2007-2008 school year we have thirty-one mentors meeting with their students each week.
