my cancer (new)Published By: rosemary bannerman(Public)Published on: 2008-07-07
This is to let you know that I had my yearly mammogram and the results showed no more cancer. It has been a whole year that I found out, and I wanted  to thank everyone that has been praying for my full recovery.  God has blessed me in so many ways this past year and I am ever so grateful  for all the people that I have met.

Troy UpdatePublished By: Chris Wieling(Public)Published on: 2008-06-28

Troy had his sixth treatment on Tuesday the 24th so he is now half way.  The last two treatments were pretty bad.  He had a lot of nausea that started before he even left the clinic.  He is on several anti-nausea medications and there isn’t much more they can do for him so he just suffers through, sleeping a lot of the time.  By Monday he feels pretty good again so he does have one good week in between treatments.  During his bad weeks we found it’s best if I take the girls and go someplace for most of the day.  We’ve been spending a lot of time with the grandmas and grandpas.   The good news is that his blood work continues to look excellent.  They won’t do any further tests to determine if there is still any cancer cells until after his treatments are done.

Troy has found out that if he works at all during his short time disability he will not be eligible for long term disability.  Short term ends August 29 and his last treatment will be September 16.  If the treatments continue to go as planned however, he’ll go back to work full time September 1 and take vacation for when he can’t work.  (He has plenty of vacation accrued to take him through September.)  If he does have to go on long term disability he is no longer an employee of Holland Hospital and looses all benefits.

You know Troy ’s a pretty smart cookie, he made us put money aside for an emergency fund and always made sure he had enough vacation accrued just in case something happened.  Who would have thought that I would be out of a job and he would have cancer?!   If we didn’t have that emergency fund we would be in trouble, but God takes care of us doesn’t he!

Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.  We feel very fortunate to have so many friends who care so much!

Jarvis Zoerhof UpdatePublished By: Wayne BakkerPublished on: 2008-06-26

We are thankful to inform you that Jarvis Zoerhof came out of surgery at 4:15 pm on June 25 at the Meijer Heart Clinic in Grand Rapids .   He had a quintuple (five) heart by-pass procedure and is now recovering.   Doctors are keeping him sedated to ease his recovery.   The family is thankful that things appear to have gone well.   We praise God for protecting Jarvis through this long and complicated surgery. Also a reminder that Jarvis and his family have the prayer pager at 616-713-1573, so please take a moment to call this number and let them know you are praying for them - thanks!
