East Saugatuck Prayer Requests

One of our core values is that prayer is essential for effective ministry. We take prayer seriously and it is an integral part of our ministry at East Saugatuck. "Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.  - James 5."  In the spirit of James 5, East Saugatuck Elders are available to pray with anyone in need of physical and spiritual healing—please don’t hesitate to contact any Elder if you are in need of prayer!

You can stay up to date on any prayer requests here.  If you have an item that requires prayer, you can also post your requests at the bottom of this page.

Prayer Requests

Wayne Bakker - 2019-05-23

Three prayer requests to pass along today:

1. Sergio (Artie) Orozco is suffering from an infection in his body, With an abscess in his back. Today, a medical team is meeting to discuss the possibility of surgery to deal with that abscess. If that surgery happens it will take place this afternoon; otherwise, they will continue with the antibiotics.

2. Earl Nyland is feeling a little better today but has received six units of blood in the last couple of days. He had lost a great deal of blood internally, so much so that we can be thankful he is alive. Today, now that he has a more substantial amount of blood within him, they are hoping to do some tests to determine where the blood is going and why he is, slowly, overtime, losing so much.

3. Karen Timmer, Josh Timmer's mother and Mildred Zoerhof's daughter, has been hospitalized with pneumonia following intense chemotherapy treatment.

Prayers for these needs today would be appreciated!
